Friedman began his long career as a staff producer in London with Decca Records and eventually worked with John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr at their management company APPLE/ ABKCO in New York . His journey took him to London Records to do N. American a&r and CBS's April / Blackwood Music in NYC and then L.A./ Warner Chappell music publishing companies, eventually setting up The Music Umbrella in 1980 in Santa Monica, California
The VP of Domestic Placement & New Media is Will Griggs. Griggs began his professional career with Warner Brothers Records in the regional (Warner/Elektra/Atlantic) office in Atlanta . Griggs was then brought in as a special project manager for Warner Brothers urban adult contemporary and urban alternative artists. He then became an urban music marketing consult with LaFace Records, before successfully running Chocolate Soul Recordings and now with the Music Umbrella in Los Angeles .
